NIGAG Committee

NIGAG is organised and governed by a committee of volunteers elected at the NIGAG Annual General Meeting. The current members are:



Zoe
Zoe Anderson
Vice Chair

Zoë is the Communications Manager at Start360, managing the organisation’s external and internal communications, policy and public affairs work for the 26 services that they currently deliver across Northern Ireland. Prior to taking up this role in 2013, Zoë has worked in policy and communications roles across the voluntary sector, including at Action on Hearing Loss, Access to Benefits and NICVA.



Jenny
Jenny Ruddy
Committee Member

Jenny recently joined the MS Society Northern Ireland as External Relations Officer . She previously worked at Mencap in Northern Ireland as Campaigns Officer, co-ordinating the delivery of Mencap's campaigning activity across Northern Ireland and developing links with the Northern Ireland Assembly. While at Mencap, she provided the secretariat support to the All Party Group on Learning Disability. Jenny has a BA Hons in Modern History and Politics from Queen’s University, Belfast.



Phil
Philip Mynes
Vice Chair

Phil is the Policy and Public Officer for Marie Curie in Northern Ireland. His role includes representing the work of the charity to the Northern Ireland Assembly as well as campaigning to ensure that people with a terminal illness and their families get the best possible care and support. Phil holds an MSc in Political Lobbying and Public Affairs from the University of Ulster.



Jack Gibson
Jack Gibson
Events and Communications Officer
Jack is Senior Account Executive at Chambré Public Affairs. Within Chambré he supports a number of client accounts in a broad range of policy areas, from Health to Planning, and leads on the delivery of Chambré’s monitoring service. He is also responsible for the development and delivery of the ‘Eye on the Hill’ series of policy events. Jack holds a BA (Hons) History from University College London, and a Masters in Legal Science from Queen’s University Belfast.


Michael Moore

Michael is the Policy Officer for Macmillan Cancer Support in Northern Ireland. His role involves a range of public affairs and campaigning activities to advance key issues and bring the voices of people affected by cancer to the Northern Ireland Assembly. Michael previously led an innovative project which supported individuals and families experiencing homelessness to lobby government for policy change through a Human Rights Based Approach.


John McCormick
John McCormick
Committee Member

John has recently taken up a new role as Policy and Engagement Manager with Arthritis Care in Northern Ireland. A key part of his job is to influence policymakers and encourage more people with arthritis to shape the work of Arthritis Care and become more involved in lobbying and campaigning, so that their voices are heard where it matters. John has worked in the voluntary sector for the last 12 years, most recently at Carers NI where he led on policy and developed awareness campaigns , having previously worked at NICVA and in the public sector.



Johnny Stewart
Treasurer
Johnny provides strategic public affairs and PR counsel to clients in a range of areas including energy, health, enterprise and education. He has been working at international communications agency Weber Shandwick since 2011 and holds a BSc Hons in Communication with PR from the University of Ulster. In his spare time Johnny volunteers with church/youth groups and sits on the Alumni Executive Committee at the University of Ulster.


Janine Maher

Janine is the Northern Ireland Manager for External Affairs & Public Policy at the Money Advice Service and a board member for Young Enterprise Northern Ireland. Prior to joining the Money Advice Service, Janine was a Financial Capability Manager for the Financial Services Authority. 


Ashleigh Simpson
Ashleigh Simpson
Secretary
Ashleigh is the Communications and Engagement Manager at the Commissioner for Older People for Northern Ireland. She was previously the Policy & Public Affairs Officer at the Royal College of GPs in Northern Ireland and Senior Research Executive at Chambré Public Affairs. Prior to joining Chambré PA, she completed internships locally and internationally, working for organisations such as Amnesty International NI, Vital Voices and the Northern Ireland Bureau in Washington DC. Ashleigh has a BA in Ancient and Modern History and a MA in Modern History from Queen’s University, Belfast.


Iain Hoy
Iain Hoy
Chair
Iain is the Senior Policy Adviser at CBI Northern Ireland, responsible for liaising with local members and colleagues across the UK to deliver CBI Northern Ireland’s policy work. Iain has a background in policy, public affairs and public relations, with experience gained locally through senior roles with Chambre Public Affairs. Prior to joining Chambré Iain worked for Mike Crockart MP in Edinburgh and was involved in the 2011 Scottish Parliamentary Elections.
